Reflective Writing
Thursday, July 14th, 2022 at 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Need to reflect as part of your professional role or your course, but don’t know where to begin? Unsure what reflection is or what it involves?
Writing reflectively involves critically analysing an experience, recording how it has impacted you and what you plan to do with your new knowledge. Reflective writing is a key skill in your development as a practitioner and as you progress in your medical or health career. It is often a skill needed in development of your portfolio, continuing professional development and revalidation.
Learn what reflection, and reflective writing is, and how to write a reflective piece. Session includes Gibbs’ reflective cycle and practical exercises.
The session will be led by Chloe Turner, the new Primary Care Librarian for Derbyshire. The session will last around 1 hour, including time for discussion and practical exercises.
What will I learn?
Participants will:
- Understand what reflection and reflective writing are
- Be introduced to two models of reflection
- Be able to reflect on your experiences confidently and more effectively
