What is a GP Preceptorship?
preceptorship (prĭ-sĕp′tər-shĭp′). A period of practical training for a student or novice under the supervision of a preceptor.
Moving from GP training to independent practice can be daunting. You might be in unfamiliar roles without the same support systems you had during your ST years.
We want to make this transition as straightforward as possible. The GP Task Force are working with gp-s mentoring to provide all GPs qualifying in the 2019-20 academic year FREE 1:1 mentoring support from an experienced GP mentor throughout this first year.
Our mentors will receive bespoke training to meet your needs. They will offer coaching to help you deal with any problems you face, and help with your professional development. They will be supported by the GPTF operational team who can give careers advice and the Local Medical Committee who can support with signposting for complaints, contracts etc.
