GP Specialty Training

If you are working as a partner or salaried GP in an existing training practice and keen to help with the GP Specialty training by doing debriefs, giving feedback and carrying out assessments, why not consider doing the Clinical Supervisor course? This runs over one and a half days, is free to participants, and is an excellent introduction to medical education.

Appraiser

A GP appraiser performs between 6 and 20 appraisals a year. The role is flexible and pays an amount per appraisal. It can be a fabulous way of supporting colleagues whilst learning about local general practice. This Blog by Appraiser, Dr Zoe Norris, explains the role. If you contact your local responsible officer, they will be able to let you know when GP Appraisers are being recruited.

Mentoring and Coaching

GP Mentor
As a mentor one can support other GPs wishing to consider their career or work through difficulties they are experiencing as a GP.

Locally, mentoring is run via GP-S, the team will be able to inform you if any vacancies are coming up.

Coaching

Coaching is becoming increasingly popular. Courses, including diplomas, are provided via the East Midlands Leadership Academy.
