The New to Practice Fellowship Programme is a programme of support, learning and development supported by national funding available to every newly qualified GP. Our Derbyshire programme will meet the needs of newly qualified GPs and fund them to attend professional development sessions, thereby ensuring a smooth transition into independent practice.

Key points

Every newly-qualified GP coming out of training will have a guaranteed opportunity to benefit from the scheme for 24 months post CCT.

The Offer is for those in “substantive GP posts” ie. salaried, partner or portfolio GPs who have qualified at any time since August 2019. Locum GPs will be able to attend sessions but will not be reimbursed.

You will be paid to attend professional development activities. This will be reimbursed at a rate of £7,200 per annum (for a full time 9 sessions per week GP) or a pro-rata amount for less than full time.

A dedicated education programme including topics such as leadership, mentoring and Quality Improvements has been devised. Our first introductory CPD session takes place on Wednesday 18th November 2020 14:00 – 16:00. The sessions will be monthly thereafter.
