Derbyshire Education Network
Derbyshire Education Network (DEN) is the answer to accessing free education.
DEN sessions are FREE education workshops designed by GPs.
We regularly run update courses including Basic Life Support Updates, Children/ Adult Safeguarding, End of Life learning sessions. The workshops are hosted by an expert in the field such as hospital consultants and speciality doctors.
Our virtual sessions take place at least once a month, with over 70+ places available at each session.
The education sessions are open to anyone who may benefit from the learning objectives, this includes GPs, Nurses, ANPs and HCAS.
DEN originated from funding from Health Education England to continue to support sessional GP education and networking across the county. The workshops are now sponsored by pharmaceutical groups who have a 10minute slot at the beginning of each session.

Clinical Lead
Dr Julie Carson
I’ve been working as a GP in Derby since 2013. I was initially in a salaried GP role for 5 years but I now work as a GP locum, which gives me the flexibility I need to balance work and home life with four small children! I also work two days a week teaching at the Graduate Entry Medical School (based in Derby). In addition to this, I was more than happy to take on the role of clinical lead for the Derby Education Network (DEN).
The DEN meetings provide a great opportunity to keep up to date with CPD requirements, but also provide a chance to chat with other clinicians based in the area, hopefully making people feel less isolated and more supported. See you there!

DEN Coordinator / Project Coordinator Apprentice
Ola Sobolewska
I have been apart of the GPTF team for over 1 year being the first point of contact for GP Retention support and also the Derbyshire Educational Network. I work closely with Dr Carson ensuring all education sessions run seamlessly from planning, delegate registration, feedback and produce the certificates for those all important CPD points! I recently completed my level 2 apprenticeship in Business Administration in 2020 and currently progressing my level 3.
In my spare time, I enjoy travelling and love to spend time being out with my best friends.
